Around the world By: Patrick Perez
Every summer, the school offered
an opportunity for students from various
grade levels to travel to different countries
around the world. Last year the trip lasted
ten days and included visits to Spain,
Gibraltar and Portugal. The Overseas Study
Program (OSP) to Europe was comprised
of 44 students, their relatives and teachers.
Students followed a customized itinerary
that attracted a variety of interests.
Among the many stops and visits, there
were cathedrals, museums, and soccer
stadiums.
“It was such an amazing experience
because we were able to visit interesting
places. We went to the religious site of
Belem in Portugal and that was especially
cool for us,” said senior Daniel Martinez.
“It was an unforgettable experience and I
recommend the OSP trip to all.”
It wasn’t just about the landmarks,
but also the food and the culture. The
students who visited came back raving
about the local cuisine, as well as the
people from these countries.
“The trip was so much fun for me
because it was my first time in Europe,
and I was able to experience a whole new
culture,” said sophomore Guillermo Molero.
Accompanied by school alumni Alexander Fals ‘16 and Rafael Marmol ‘16, students sample the local cuisine at a restaurant in Marbella, Spain.
Other stops in this Eurpean tour included Portugal and Gibraltar.
