Absolute Attempt At Redemption

Last year’s varsity soccer team proved to be
a force to reckon with, as they filled in the
big shoes left behind by the previous State
Champions. They finished the season strong,
and ended at the district semifinals level.
Above: Taking on a defender, senior Mateus Tordin gets around to make
a pass. Tordin was the team’s captain and mentor.
On the opposite page: Trying to score, junior Maximiliano Llorente
takes his best shot. Llorente put up one goal and two assists throughout
the season.
Defending his opponent, junior Diego Nunez tries to take the ball from
the attacker. Nunez was a stabilizing force on the defense.
Looking to set a pass, sophomore Thanasi Naos reads the teams
defense. Naos helped his team greatly by scoring three goals and three
assists during the season.
Clearing the goal, junior Alejandro Pujals gets the ball to his teammate.
Pujals was a dominant goalie, holding the opponent scoreless ten times.
Splitting through the defenders, senior Andres Taquechel skillfully
controls the ball. Taquechel was one of the top scorers with eight goals.
Clearing the backfield, junior Carlos Vela defends the goal. Vela was a

teammate. While still in middle school, Restrepo scored six goals and Sebastian Llano, Maximiliano Lorente, Jorge Lopez-Cabrera, Rodrigo Munoz, Thanasi Naos, Diego Nunez, Juan Pereira, Julian Piedrahita,
five assists. Christopher Ponce, Alejandro Pujals, Sebastian Restrepo, Javan Rice, Daniel Riveron, Juan San Martin, Carlos Sosa, Nicolas Sosa, Harrison
