Abundance of Adoration
By: Jorge Vizcarrondo
On every first Friday of the month students of all grades went to the Chapel to
be a part of the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. This opportunity was available to
all members of the school community. The Adoration referred to when Christ was fully
present, Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity.
The Eucharist would be placed in a monstrance above the altar, and the
students would pray and show respect to Christ. Sixth grader Justin Alvarez always
looked forward to the first Friday of the month.
“I really enjoy going to the art gallery, and paying my respects to God. I always
feel great after I go,” said Alvarez who also encouraged his friends and classmates to
accompany him.
Since the school chapel was under construction, the gallery was converted
into a small chapel where students took part in their homeroom masses and other forms From top to bottom: Sixth grader Justin Alvarez, stops by during homeroom to pray and

“My favorite part of mass is when Father Willie gives his homilies because
they’re entertaining and they have a good lesson,” said seventh garder Oscar Echegaray.
Despite the reconstruction of the school chapel, students and teachers never
missed the opportunity to worship, especially on the Fridays of the Adoration.
